Our 22 Day Splendors of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia Tour enables exploration and discoveries in three countries, and gives participants a full picture of the similarities and differences of their culture, customs, beliefs and religions followings.

 

Begin in Hanoi with a city tour and visit some ancient sites, before embarking on a junk cruise, (including a night on board), of Halong Bay, a UNESCO Listed site and the country’s premier tourist destination. Fly to Luang Prabang in Laos for a guided tour of the UNESCO rated city and its surrounds. Discover palaces, waterfalls, sacred caves, and enjoy an elephant ride and enjoy a fresh mountain water swim, before flying directly to Siem Reap in Cambodia and your guided tour of the awesome Temples of Angkor and surrounds, so revered that Angkor Wat appears on the nations flag. Travel to the capital Phnom Penh, and enjoy a guided tour of the city and surrounds, before boarding a boat for the river cruise to Chau Doc, on the border of Cambodia and southern Vietnam. Undertake a comprehensive tour of the Mekong Delta region. Enjoy a visit to some war time underground tunnels and a guided tour of HCM City. Then fly to the central region for an in depth look at the cultural and religious heart of the country, and enjoy a cooking class, before moving on to historical Hoian for investigations and some well deserved beach time. Fly to Hanoi where your tour ends.

Day 1 Hanoi - Arrival


Hanoi

  • Met and welcomed by your guide upon arrival
  • Transfer to hotel by private car
  • Enjoy a traditional cyclo ride of exploration through the busy streets of the ‘Old Quarter’
  • Discover Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple
  • Enjoy a water-puppet show, a traditional and ancient art form, unique to Vietnam

Day 2 Hanoi - Hoa Lu & Tam Coc


Halong on land - Splendors of Vietnam and Cambodge

  • Head for Tam Coc town, known as ‘Halong Bay in the rice fields
  • Board small sampan and traverse the Ngo Dong River through the rice fields
  • Enter three sacred caves, the Tam Coc Caves
  • Have lunch in Tam Coc town
  • Take a small bike ride towards the Bich Dong Pagoda
  • Enjoy the exceptional view of the whole site
  • Return to Hanoi in the afternoon
  • Overnight at a hotel in Hanoi including breakfast.

 

Day 3 Hanoi - Halong - Cruise and night on board


Halong

  • Transfer from Hanoi to Halong Bay by private car with tour guide
  • Halong Bay, with its 1969 islands, is set in beautiful turquoise waters and was recognized for its natural beauty by UNESCO in 1994, and classified as a World Heritage Site.
  • Receive a welcome drink on boarding

  • Start your cruise while enjoying lunch.
  • Lunch is served from a delicious seafood menu while cruising to magnificent Bai Tu Long Bay

Day 4 Halong - Cruise - Hanoi

Day 5 Hanoi - City tour - FLY - Luang Prabang

Day 6 Luang Prabang - City tour

  • Discover and explore the sacred caves at Pak Ou

  • See the Terrace of the Leper King with its beautiful carvings of gods, nagas, and dancers

Day 11 Siem Reap - Rolous group - Banteay Srei - Banteay Samre

  • Visit the Roluos group, Hindu worship temples dating from the late 9th century
  • Explore the temple Preah Ko, erected by Indravarman in the late 9th century
  • See the temple Lolei, the twin to Preah Ko, and see its sandstone carvings
  • Visit the temple Bakong, the largest of the Rolous group
  • Discover the temple of Banteay Srei, a Hindu temple dating back to the 10th century
  • Visit the Banteay Samre temple, a Hindu temple dedicated in the 12th century to Vishnu Shiva

Day 12 Siem Reap - Tonle Sap – FLY - Phnom Penh

  • Drive to the fishing village of Kampung Phluk, on the banks of the Tonle Sap Lake
  • Take a cruise on a local boat to explore some of the nearby floating villages
  • See the huts of bamboo and straw, built on stilts to avoid flooding
  • Practice some of the traditional fishing techniques employed by the locals
  • Transfer to the airport for a flight to Phnom Penh

Day 13 Phnom Penh - City tour

  • Visit the National Museum of Fine Arts, a collection of sculptures exhibiting pre-Angkorian and Angkorian,
  • Visit the Royal Palace, resplendent in traditional Khmer architecture
  • See the Silver Pagoda and its magnificent Emerald Buddha
  • Explore Wat Phnom, the oldest of the city, and see the statue of Madam Penh
  • Visit the Museum of Genocidal Crime, which was the S-21 prison – the scene of the worst examples of brutality and torture under the infamous Pol Pot
  • Visit the camp Choeng Ek Killing Field, outside Phnom Penh, the last resting place of many Cambodian people, whose killings were committed by the brutal Khmer Rouge regime.
  • Take a stroll through the Central Market, famous for its Art Deco architecture.

Day 14 Phnom Penh - BOAT - Chau Doc

  • Enjoy lunch at local restaurant
  • Take a boat ride to the island of Tigre "Cu Lao Ong Ho"
  • Visit the museum dedicated to the second President Ton Duc Thang

Day 16 Can Tho - Cai Rang floating market - HCM city

  • Visit to the colorful and vibrant Cai Rang floating market and Ba Cong fruit orchard

  • Go to the 100yr old Binh Thuy Ancient House

  • Observe the thick, lush vegetation along the riverbanks and life of the local people
  • Return to Ho Chi Minh City
  • Visit either the Vinh Trang Pagoda or Cao Dai Temple on the way

Day 17 HCM City – City tour - Cu Chi tunnels

Day 18 HCM City - FLY - Hue - City tour

Day 19 Hue - Thuy Bieu village - Cooking class
